five people holding awards

Minnesota’s Southwest Regional Development Commission awarded its 2019 Program of the Year Award to the Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs) for their continuous efforts to help residents build and apply clean energy practices across the state.

The CERTs program is a partnership of four organizations working to connect individuals and communities to the resources they need to identify and implement community-based clean energy projects. The seven CERTs regions cover the entire state of Minnesota. Statewide partners include the Great Plains Institute, the University of Minnesota Extension’s Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships, Southwest Regional Development Commission, and the Minnesota Department of Commerce. GPI staffs the 11-county Twin Cities metro region which works to empower communities to adopt energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy technologies and practices for homes, businesses, and local institutions.
