GPI Vice President for Transportation and Fuels Brendan Jordan issued the following statement on today’s launch of the Minnesota Sustainable Aviation Fuel Hub, a new coalition led by the GREATER MSP Partnership, Bank of America, Delta Air Lines, Ecolab, and Xcel Energy.

“We are thrilled to see this first-of-a-kind coalition, which stems from Minnesota’s leading role in creating the policy and collaborative network for commercializing low-carbon sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs). Aviation is a particularly challenging sector to decarbonize, and more work is needed, including the establishment of a statewide clean transportation standard which GPI and many others will be advocating for in the 2024 legislative session. It is exciting to see the momentum continue to build to tackle this challenge and seize this new economic opportunity for Minnesota. GPI is eager to support the new SAF hub and contribute to creating the system conditions for its success, including through the Bioeconomy Coalition of Minnesota, which GPI facilitates, and additional policy that will complement the state’s new SAF tax credit, which GPI helped support. Congratulations and thanks to all the hub’s partners.”
