4 Star Rating

We’re proud to share with you that the Great Plains Institute (GPI) earned our third consecutive four-star rating in 2017 from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most-used charity evaluator.

This rating places GPI in the top 17 percent of nonprofits in the U.S. and recognizes GPI as financially healthy, accountable, and transparent.

GPI’s impact has steadily grown over the last 20 years as we work at the state, regional, and national level to transform the energy system. While our organization has increased in size in recent years, we continue our deep commitment to fiscal responsibility and management.

According to Michael Thatcher, president and CEO of Charity Navigator, “The Great Plains Institute’s exceptional four-star rating sets it apart from its peers and demonstrates its trustworthiness to the public.”

Your trust is important to our successes and achievement of our mission. We greatly appreciate the support from you, our donors, funders, and partners. Your investment in GPI plays a critical role in our continued progress.
