The Great Plains Institute, along with theBipartisan Policy Center and Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions held a one-day workshop in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 13 to explore trends in the electricity sector and to explore what the trends mean for state energy and environmental policy choices.
More than 150 experts, state officials and stakeholders from across the Eastern Interconnect were in attendance, along with hundreds of people from across the US watching the live webcast of the workshop.
The workshop featured keynote speeches by Janet McCabe, Acting Assistant Administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and Howard Gruenspecht, Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
