As President and CEO Rolf Nordstrom nears his retirement date at the end of this month, we wanted to share an important update on the process to select GPI’s next leader. The search continues to attract strong interest from highly qualified candidates, and GPI’s board of directors has determined that additional time is needed to identify the right leader to guide GPI through its next chapter of growth and impact.

To ensure continuity during this transition, the board has appointed Louise Miltich, GPI’s executive vice president, to serve as interim president and CEO following Rolf’s retirement.

This decision follows GPI’s established succession plan and reflects the board’s confidence in the organization’s leadership team. Louise is a key member of GPI’s executive leadership, helping shape and advance the organization’s work across its programs and defining its strategy. In her interim role, she will work alongside GPI’s experienced program vice presidents and chief financial officer to ensure continued strategic progress and strong support for our staff, partners, and stakeholders.

The search for our next president and CEO remains active and is being conducted with the support of Scion Executive Search. The board seeks a leader who can build on GPI’s nearly three decades of success advancing practical, durable solutions that accelerate the transition to net-zero carbon emissions to benefit people, the economy, and the environment.

As we prepare for our next chapter, we remain focused on what has always defined our work: bringing people together to solve complex energy challenges through collaboration, trusted relationships, and practical action. We are actively developing our next strategic plan, which is expected to be released this fall and will guide how GPI drives progress in the coming years through this consequential period for energy, climate, and our collective society.

GPI remains strong, stable, and focused on its mission. We are grateful to Rolf Nordstrom for his over two decades of leadership, excited to have Louise Miltich guiding the organization through this transition, and confident that the search process will identify the right leader to carry GPI’s work forward for years to come.
