Satish Jayaram, director of Cummins Global Energy Ventures, has joined the Great Plains Institute’s (GPI’s) board of directors.
“Satish is a change-agent with a global mindset in the field of power generation,” said Rolf Nordstrom, president and CEO of GPI. “We are thrilled he will bring additional national and global perspectives and thought-leadership to our board. His insights will be invaluable to our work to transform the energy system to benefit both the economy and the environment.”
Jayaram formed Cummins Energy Ventures in 2014 with a mandate to invest in emerging businesses and technologies in the distributed generation realm. Jayaram leads a team that is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, incubating, and managing investments and alliances in support of Cummins Power Systems’ business strategy. They work with a broad set of industry stakeholders on market trends, policies, technology innovation, and the resulting implications for the energy industry and Cummins.
“I have been an admirer of GPI’s mission and work in clean energy through its policy advocacy initiatives,” Jayaram said. “I’m honored to join the board and to now be part of its continued success”
Jayaram joined Cummins in 2004 and has held a variety of business transformation leadership and general management roles. Prior to working in Cummins’ Energy Ventures, he led the power generation business for the company in Africa.
Prior to Cummins, Jayaram was an entrepreneur and formed a boutique consulting firm. Earlier in his career, he worked for tech startups in India, San Francisco, and New York. He holds a degree in accounting and business from the PSG Institute of Management.
