Great Plains Institute (GPI) is pleased to welcome Huong Nguyen as our new director of finance and administration.
Nguyen most recently worked in a similar position at Great River Greening (GRG), an environmental conservation nonprofit working throughout Minnesota. At GRG, she was primarily responsible for leadership of teams in finance and administration, grant management and office operations. Prior to joining GPI, Nguyen worked in a variety of nonprofit areas including education, the arts, and environmental conservation. She earned a law degree from Hamline University, an MBA from St. Thomas University, and a bachelor of science from Marquette University.
“I am excited to join GPI and to be a part of an organization that focuses on energy stewardship,” Nguyen said. “I truly believe access to reliable clean energy should be available to everyone in order to grow strong, resilient, and equitable communities.”
Nguyen joins GPI at a pivotal time in its institutional growth. GPI has made incredible strides in our 20-year history as we work to achieve our mission to transform the energy system to benefit the economy and environment. At the same time, we know we need to do more, and faster. I look forward to the vital role Nguyen will play at GPI as we continue to grow our national reach and work to achieve the level of impact we know is necessary and possible.
