The Carbon Capture Coalition announced this week the hiring of Madelyn Morrison as its external affairs manager. Madelyn joins Jessie Stolark, the Coalition’s public policy & member relations manager, as its second full-time staff member. The Coalition, which is convened by the Great Plains Institute, is a nonpartisan collaboration of more than 80 businesses and organizations building federal policy support for economy-wide deployment of carbon capture, transport, use, removal, and storage. Letter to Congress: Carbon Capture Coalition Calls for Increased Federal Funding

The Carbon Capture Coalition, which is co-convened by GPI, recently sent a letter asking members of Congress to support continued robust federal funding for research, development, and demonstration of carbon capture, utilization, storage, and removal technologies and applications as they consider appropriations for the FY 2020 Omnibus. The letter to congressional appropriators was sent on behalf of the more than 60 companies, unions, and energy and agricultural organizations in the Coalition together with their partners.

Best Public Affairs Campaign Award Goes to Carbon Capture Coalition and RENEWPR

I am thrilled to share that the Carbon Capture Coalition, along with its communications partner RENEWPR, received the inaugural Best Public Affairs Campaign Award from the Cleanie Awards. The award recognizes the Coalition’s collaborative effort to garner support for the reform of the federal 45Q tax credit for carbon capture technology development and deployment, which was signed into law earlier this year.
