The Carbon Capture Coalition, which is co-convened by GPI, recently sent a letter asking members of Congress to support continued robust federal funding for research, development, and demonstration of carbon capture, utilization, storage, and removal technologies and applications as they consider appropriations for the FY 2020 Omnibus. The letter to congressional appropriators was sent on behalf of the more than 60 companies, unions, and energy and agricultural organizations in the Coalition together with their partners.

Credible research and analysis have always been fundamental to achieving GPI’s mission of transforming the energy system to benefit the economy and environment. Yet while many know GPI as a convener and consensus-builder among diverse interests, we also have rigorous research and analysis capability in-house.
The Great Plains Institute collaborated with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency on the newly released vision for the future of electric vehicles in the state.
I’m excited to welcome Jessi Wyatt to the Great Plains Institute team as an associate energy planner and analyst. In her role, Jessi will provide technical and analytical support to a variety of projects and programs with a focus on local energy and climate action planning and geospatial analysis. Jessi will also assist with carbon capture and storage modeling and with strategic mapping for policy initiatives, including transportation electrification.
