LoGoPEP Webinar: Tools for Local Government Energy Champions

Using St. Louis Park as a case study to frame the conversation, we will demonstrate how the LoGoPEP tools can be used to create clear, achievable energy plans. In addition to providing an overview of the energy planning guide and workbook, sample existing conditions analysis, and solar energy calculator, this webinar will feature a demonstration of the wedge diagram tool. The wedge diagram tool allows users to explore a city’s potential energy futures through an interactive diagram that shows how reduction strategies impact forecasted city-wide greenhouse gas emissions from building energy consumption. This tool currently includes city-specific data for all cities participating in the Regional Indicators Initiative, and will be incorporating additional cities (that have achieved Step 2 or higher in the GreenStep Cities program) in 2018.

Montana Carbon Capture Forum

The National Enhanced Oil Recovery Initiative (NEORI) has chosen Montana to hold its annual strategy meeting, and the industry, labor and environmental coalition will co-host the Montana Carbon Capture Forum in Billings on Thursday, October 5th from noon to 2 p.m. The Forum will feature remarks from Governor Steve Bullock (D-MT) on the significant energy production, jobs, and emissions reduction potential that carbon capture offers for the state of Montana and the nation.
