Join experts, state officials, and stakeholders from across the Plains and beyond for a one-day workshop exploring energy developments and trends in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) region. This workshop will feature multiple perspectives on ongoing challenges and will include panels on wind development and the proposed expansion of the SPP footprint into Colorado.

This two-day working conference will bring together solar industry practitioners from all over the country for education, networking and great times. Every year, installers, financiers, developers, distributors, manufacturers, job trainers, trade unions, utilities and government agencies participate in key topical sessions for our national audience.

This workshop is part of the 2017-2018 GreenStep Cities Workshop Series. Keep an eye out for more information about upcoming sessions and topics! The workshops are usually held on the first Wednesday of every month, from 9-11am at the League of Minnesota Cities. Light refreshments will be served at each workshop.

Using St. Louis Park as a case study to frame the conversation, we will demonstrate how the LoGoPEP tools can be used to create clear, achievable energy plans. In addition to providing an overview of the energy planning guide and workbook, sample existing conditions analysis, and solar energy calculator, this webinar will feature a demonstration of the wedge diagram tool. The wedge diagram tool allows users to explore a city’s potential energy futures through an interactive diagram that shows how reduction strategies impact forecasted city-wide greenhouse gas emissions from building energy consumption. This tool currently includes city-specific data for all cities participating in the Regional Indicators Initiative, and will be incorporating additional cities (that have achieved Step 2 or higher in the GreenStep Cities program) in 2018.

Our third annual Energy Innovation Celebration will feature conversations on "Solutions from the Ground Up." The event will connect leaders from government, business, and organizations to foster collaboration in cities on clean energy and climate, and present opportunities for more sustainable, livable, and prosperous communities.

The National Enhanced Oil Recovery Initiative (NEORI) has chosen Montana to hold its annual strategy meeting, and the industry, labor and environmental coalition will co-host the Montana Carbon Capture Forum in Billings on Thursday, October 5th from noon to 2 p.m. The Forum will feature remarks from Governor Steve Bullock (D-MT) on the significant energy production, jobs, and emissions reduction potential that carbon capture offers for the state of Montana and the nation.
